Employees

If you are from outside the EU we can assist you to choose the right Work Permit for you.

  • SBS - SECTOR BASED SCHEME - This is for low skilled workers, to work in the UK for upto 1 year. more

  • WP1 - Work Permit 1 - This is for skilled workers, to work in the UK for up to 5 years more

  • TWES - this is for students to work in the UK as part of their academic course more


    SBS Details;
    This scheme allows workers from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) to enter the United Kingdom to take short term casual jobs.The employer must apply for the permit before the worker travels to the UK.

    Facts:
  • Workers must be from outside the UK
  • Workers must be aged between 18 - 30 Years
  • Permits are valid for 12 months only
  • After completing 12 months, workers must leave the UK for a minimum of 2 months before a further application can be made.

    Only low skilled work (NVQ level 2) can be obtained through SBS:
  • Bar staff
  • Chefs (Below level 2)
  • Cleaners - staff canteens and resturants only
  • Concierge staff
  • Food service operators
  • Housekeepers

  • Room attendants
  • Reception staff
  • Waiting staff

    WP1 Details:
    Work Permit 1 (Business & Commercial)
    This scheme allows workers from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) to enter the United Kingdom to take skilled jobs for 1 to 5 years.The employer must apply for the permit before the worker travels to the UK.
    Facts:
  • Workers must be from outside the EEA
  • Workers must be trained to NVQ level 3 or equivalent
  • Workers must have a minimum of 3 years experience at
    NVQ level 3
  • Permits are for between 1 & 5 years
  • Workers must apply for Limited leave to remain once they have entered the UK.

    TWES Details:
    This scheme allows students on full time degree courses to undertake a maximum of 12 months training or work experience in the UK.The college must apply for the permit before the worker travels to the UK.
    Facts:
  • Students must be from outside the EEA
  • Students must be on a full time degree course, part of which is to undertake vocational training
  • Permits are valid for a maximum of 12 months
  • After completing a 12 month training scheme, students may not apply for additional training in the UK for a further 12 months
  • Once the degree course is completed the student is elegible to apply in the UK under the Sector Based Scheme
